ECONOMY OF KALIMANTAN TENGAH QUARTER III IN 2019 GROWING 5.31%

Abstract

The economy of Kalimantan Tengah in the third quarter of 2019 as measured by the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices reached Rp37,476.6 billion and on the basis of constant 2010 reached Rp25,246.7 billion.

The economy of Kalimantan Tengah in quarter III-2019 against quarter III-2018 (y-on-y) grew 5.31 percent. In terms of production, the highest growth was achieved by the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Categories which grew 9.53 percent, followed by the Education Services Category which grew 9.07 percent and Financial Services 8.80 percent. In terms of expenditure, the highest growth was achieved by the Consumption Expenditure Component of Non-Profit Institutions Serving Households (LNPRT) by 7.38 percent, followed by the Household Consumption Expenditure Component which grew by 5.77 percent and Government Consumption Expenditure by 3.71 percent.

The economy of Kalimantan Tengah in quarter III-2019 against quarter II-2019 (q-to-q) grew 1.66 percent. From the production side, the highest growth was achieved by the Manufacturing Industry Category which grew 10.38 percent, while the Mining and Quarrying Category experienced a contraction. While in terms of expenditure, the highest growth was achieved by Government Consumption Expenditures, which grew 6.24 percent, while the Export Component experienced a contraction.

Kalimantan Tengah's economic growth until the third quarter of 2019 (c-to-c) grew 6.32 percent. In terms of production, the highest growth was achieved by the Transportation and Warehousing Category which grew 9.00 percent. While from the expenditure side, growth was driven by all components. The highest growth was achieved by the LNPRT Consumption Expenditure Component, which grew by 8.39 percent.

Kalimantan's economic structure spatially in quarter III-2019 was still dominated by Kalimantan Timur Province by 50.13 percent. Kalimantan Tengah Province ranks fourth with a contribution of 11.43 percent.
