Abstract

Farmer's Terms of Trade (FTT) is the ratio of the price index received by farmers (It) to the index of price paid by farmers (Ib).

FTT is one indicator to see the level of ability/purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. FTT also shows the terms of trade of agricultural products with goods and services consumed as well as for production costs.

Kalimantan Tengah's Joint FTT rose 1.20 percent, from 123.63 (September 2021) to 125.11 (October 2021). This increase was driven by an increase in the exchange rate of smallholder plantation crops (2.26 percent), livestock (0.68 percent) and horticulture (0.24 percent). Meanwhile, there were two sub-sectors that experienced a decline in the exchange rate, namely the food crops sub-sector (1.67 percent) and the fisheries sub-sector (0.43 percent).

In October 2021, there was an increase in the Household Consumption Index (HCI) in Kalimantan Tengah by 0.70 percent due to an increase in indexes for all expenditure groups, especially the food, beverage and tobacco groups as well as the personal care and other services group.

The Kalimantan Tengah Agricultural Household Business Exchange Rate (NTUP) in October 2021 was 126.51, an increase of 1.36 percent compared to the previous month's NTUP.
