Abstract

Farmer's Exchange Rate (FER) is the ratio of the price index received by farmers (It) to the index of price paid by farmers (Ib).

FER is one indicator to see the level of ability/purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. FER also shows the terms of trade (terms of trade) of agricultural products with goods and services consumed as well as for production costs.

The Joint FER of Kalimantan Tengah in June 2022 decreased by 3.11 percent compared to May 2022, from 121.97 to 118.18. This decrease was caused by the decline in the exchange rate in several sub-sectors, namely the smallholder plantation sub-sector (5.78 percent), the fisheries sub-sector (0.51 percent) and the food crops sub-sector (0.38 percent). Meanwhile, other sub-sectors experienced an increase in the exchange rate, namely the horticulture sub-sector (6.37 percent) and the livestock sub-sector (2.37 percent).

In June 2022, there was an increase in the Household Consumption Index in Kalimantan Tengah by 1.28 percent, which was mainly due to the increase in the price index for the food, beverage and tobacco group (1.80 percent), the clothing and footwear group (0.83 percent). ), as well as the food and beverage/restaurant supply group (0.71 percent).

Similar to FER, Kalimantan Tengah's Agricultural Household Business Exchange Rate in June 2022 also decreased by 2.54 percent, from 122.43 (May 2022) to 119.32 (June 2022).
