Abstract

  • Kalimantan Tengah's economy, based on the size of the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices, reached IDR 54.6 trillion in the second quarter of 2024. At constant 2010 prices, it reached IDR 29.0 trillion.

  • In the second quarter of 2024, Kalimantan Tengah's economy grew by 1.58 percent compared to the first quarter of 2024 (Q-to-Q). From the production side, the highest growth occurred in the Government Administration, Defense, and Compulsory Social Security Business Fields, at 35.91 percent. Meanwhile, on the expenditure side, the highest growth was in the Government's Final Consumption Expenditure (GFCE), at 19.84 percent.

  • Comparing the second quarter of 2024 to the second quarter of 2023 (Y-on-Y), Kalimantan Tengah's economy grew by 3.80 percent. From the production side, the highest growth was in Transportation and Storage, at 9.25 percent. On the expenditure side, the Non-Profit Institutions Serving Households (NPISH) experienced the highest growth, at 19.84 percent.

  • In the first semester of 2024, compared to the first semester of 2023, Kalimantan Tengah's economy grew by 4.40 percent (C-to-C). From the production side, Accommodation and Food Service Activities had the highest growth, at 7.48 percent. On the expenditure side, the Non-Profit Institutions Serving Households (NPISH) experienced the highest growth, at 20.44 percent.

  • Spatially, the economic structure of Kalimantan in the second quarter of 2024 is still dominated by Kalimantan Timur Province, with a contribution of 47.77 percent. Kalimantan Tengah Province occupies the second-lowest position, with a contribution of 12.14 percent. On a Q-to-Q, Y-on-Y, and C-to-C basis, all provinces in Kalimantan experienced positive growth.
